Spiritual Formation Studies

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary developed the curriculum for the United Methodist Professional Certification in Spiritual Formation, approved in 2000. In the past decade more than 100 persons have enrolled at G-ETS in Certification studies in Spiritual Formation. All courses are offered with graduate credit. Frequently, students begin with Certification studies and decide to complete the MA in Spiritual Formation & Evangelism after discovering how nurturing the studies are for specialized ministries in spiritual formation.

Spiritual Direction is a specialized track of study in the Doctor of Ministry program.

Master of Divinity students may declare a concentration in spiritual formation.

PhD students take the Christian Education and Congregational Studies program with focused study in spiritual formation.
